Professor Dr. Norhafiz Bin Azis 

Biography

Professor Dr. Norhafiz Bin Azis is a Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Putra Malaysia. He currently serves as Head of Department. He received his Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2007 and his PhD from the University of Manchester in 2012. His academic and research work focuses on electrical power engineering, energy, materials engineering, computational methods in engineering, and related high-voltage applications. His research interests include transformer insulation, dielectric liquids, partial discharge, transformer health assessment, condition monitoring, ageing behaviour of insulation materials, and sustainable insulating fluids such as palm oil and coconut oil. He has published widely in indexed journals, with research contributions covering transformer oil ageing, nanofluids, breakdown voltage, frequency response analysis, health index modelling, and partial discharge localization.


Dato' (Dr.) Ir. Guntor Tobeng, Gading Kencana Sdn Bhd

Biography

Dato’ (Dr.) Ir. Muhamad Guntor Mansor Tobeng is a distinguished Malaysian Professional Engineer and renewable energy entrepreneur with over three decades of experience in electrical engineering, energy efficiency, and large-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) development. He has served as Group Managing Director of Gading Kencana Sdn. Bhd. since 1997. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic and Systems Engineering from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (1987) and was conferred an Honorary Doctor of Philosophy (Science) by Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia in 2020. A Registered Professional Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia and a Registered Electrical Energy Manager with Suruhanjaya Tenaga, he has led landmark grid-connected solar PV projects, including a 30MWac Large Scale Solar plant in Perak, and contributed to national energy efficiency and renewable energy policy development. His numerous accolades include the ASEAN Energy Award (2018), National Energy Award (2018), IEM Award (Power & Energy) (2019), and CIDB Fellowship Award (2023)
